Wilbur G. Bakner was one of five sons of Charles W. and Mary (Shockey) Bakner of Tomstown PA.
He married Mary E. (Cook) Bakner and had one daughter, Frances Bakner and one son, Wayne O. Bakner.
Wilbur was a Machinist at Landis Tool Company and suffered a heart attack when he was 43. Wilbur and Mary then opened, owned and operated Orchard Road Market where they specialized in fresh cut meats.
Frances married William Peck who was killed in France during WII. They had one son, William Peck. Frances later married Chester S. Rotz and had one daughter, Angela (Rotz) Bergren.
Wayne Bakner was married to Thelma (Schildt) Bakner and had two sons, Carroll W. and Barry D. Bakner. Wayne was killed in an auto accident at age 38 while returning from work at Mack Trucks when the car he was riding was hit by a drunk driver.
