Major League Baseball Player. He played from 1884 to 1893 for the Boston Unions, Washington Nationals, New York Giants, Cincinnati Kelly's Killers, Cincinnati Reds and Brooklyn Grooms. As a rookie catcher and outfielder he finished second in the league with twelve home runs. Later in his career he became a pitcher, where in 1891 he led the American Association with a 2.45 ERA. However he had only one winning season and three times he collected nineteen or more losses. His life came to a tragic end when he committed suicide in Rochester, New York
