Frederick Rueping IV, age 82, of Green Lake, passed away on April 2, 2008, at Theda Clark Medical Center in Neenah.

Frederick was born on July 10, 1925, in Fond du Lac, the son of Frederick Rueping III and Virgilia (Fox) Rueping. Fred graduated from Northwestern Military Academy High School in Lake Geneva, WI. He entered the military during WWII in the 84th Infantry Division "Rail Splitters" in the U.S. Army, fighting in the Battle of the Bulge, where he received "The Soldier's Medal" given for heroism under fire. After returning from WWII, Fred graduated from the University of Wisconsin Madison with a BA Degree in 1950, and was a member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity. On September 9, 1950, he married Janet Baumgartner at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Fond du Lac. Fred worked as a hide broker, and was a partner of Harold Braun & Co. Fred was a past member of the Milwaukee Athletic Club and the Green Lake Yacht Club.

Survivors include his wife, Janet Rueping of Green Lake; daughter, Stephanie (Glenn) Pelletier of CO; son, Thomas (Judy Zacharski) Rueping of Richfield, WI; two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one brother, Edgar (Inez) Rueping of Fond du Lac, WI; and one nephew, John (Lee) Rueping of New York.
