Charlotte Grace Leonard, 100, of Whitehouse, Ohio, died April 17, 2009. She was born February 16, 1909, in Whitehouse to Homer and Gertrude (DeMuth) Allion. Charlotte worked as a Central Telephone Operator in the 1920's and 30's. From 1950-77 she worked at Toledo Rubber Products. She was a 70 year member of the Pythian Sisters and a Lifetime member of Whitehouse Post #384 American Legion Auxiliary. She recently celebrated her 100th birthday in February at her home with family and friends. She married Thomas "Tim" Leonard November 24, 1928, in Whitehouse. Survivors include daughters, Arletta (George) Willets of Whitehouse and Carolyn (Gene) Murphy of Houghton Lake, MI; brother, Allen (Ruthanna) Allion of Bloomdale; 4 grandchildren; 5 step-grandchildren; 5 great- grandchildren, 8 step-great grandchildren; 1 great-great- grandchild and 3 step-great- great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Thomas; grandson, Bud Murphy; granddaughter, Kathy Murphy; brothers, Dale and Wilbur, and sister, Helen Gill. Friends and family may call from 3 p.m.-8 p.m. Monday, April 20th at Peinert Funeral Home, Whitehouse, Ohio. Funeral Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 21st. Interment will follow at Whitehouse Cemetery. The family suggests giving memorial contributions to the Pythian Sisters Whitehouse Temple or the Whitehouse American Legion Auxiliary Post #384 or donors choice.
