She was born Dec. 6, 1917, to Mary (Schmidt) and Hugh E. Little. She graduated from Hayes Center High School in 1934 and St. Francis School of Nursing in 1941, receiving her degree as a registered nurse.
She worked in hospitals in Grand Island, Butte, Mont., Omaha and McCook.
On Dec. 13, 1941, she married Adolph Joseph Altman in Omaha. The couple made their home on a farm near Culbertson.
She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Culbertson VFW Auxiliary and the Daughters of the Union Veterans.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Adolph in 1991; infant son, Kirby Dee in 1953; parents, Mary and Hugh Little; brother, Dale Little; step-mother, Martha West; and a son-in-law, Steve Heble in 1991.
Survivors include one son, James Altman of Lafayette, La.; one daughter, Patricia and husband, Charlie Powers of McCook; one sister, Rose Smith of Delta, Colo.; six grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Mass of Christian burial will be Thursday, 10:30 a.m., at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in McCook with the Rev. Gary Brethour officiating. Interment will be in the Hayes Center Cemetery.
