Services for James E. Kent 85, of Newark at 11 am Saturday at Reed Egan Funeral Home with Deacon Robert Ghiloni officiating. Burial will follow in Barnes Cemetery. Mr. Kent a US Army veteran and POW who served during World War II and fought at the Battle of the Bulge, died June 2, 1999 at his home. He was born June 26, 1913 in Chicago, Ill. to the late Thomas and Katherine (Pine) Kent. Mr. Kent retired from the Michigan Dept. of Natural Resources, where he worked as a state park manager. He was an avid fly fisherman and a member of the Land of Legend Fly Fishers. He was also a member of the Friends of Dawes, Newark Audubon Society and a member of the American Legion. He is survived by 2 sons Jim and Kevin Kent, a daughter Mary Chapman, 5 grandchildren and several great grandchildren. He was proceeded in death by his wife Dorothy (Banks) Kent.
