Edwin "Pete" Denton, 88, of Evansville died Saturday, Feb. 8, 2003, at his home in Willow Park. He retired from Traylor Brothers after 50 years and attended Bethel Temple. He was a member of Local 181 Operating Engineers and enjoyed NASCAR and basketball. His wife, Virginia Denton, died in 1997.

Survivors include four sons, Tom Denton of Newburgh, Ind., Larry Denton of Paradise, Ind., Ron Denton of Evansville and Greg Denton of St. Louis; a daughter, Betty Gail Dausman of Newburgh; 11 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a brother, Bill Denton of Owensboro; and several nephews and nieces.

Services are at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Alexander Funeral Home East Chapel in Evansville. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Park in Evansville. Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. today and after noon Tuesday at the funeral home. Online memorial condolences may be made at www.mem.com.
