Aaron Simmons was known as Deacon Aaron Simmons and I have found his obituary from the Gloversville Leader, Wed. April 14, 1909 pg. 2 "Aaron Simmons Dead" Well Known And Highly Respected Resident Dies At Home Of Sister. Aaron Simmons, aged ninety, died at the home of his sister, Mrs. Catherine Heath, No. 10 Clinton st., last night at 6:20. Mr. Simmons is survived by one son, Albert N. Simmons, a half brother, Daniel Hays, and one sister, Mrs. Catherine Heath, all of this city. The funeral will be held at three Thursday afternoon at the First Baptist Church, after a short prayer service at his late home. Rev. Chester F. Ralston will officiate. Burial will be made in Prospect Hill. Aaron Simmons was born in the Western part of the state on April 15, 1819. When very young his father died and he went to live with his grandfather, who soon after removed to Black Lake, St Lawrence County. After a short stay in that vicinity the family removed to Scotts Bush, a few miles west of the city, when Aaron Simmons was 11. At the age of 21 he married Miss Julia Ann Fox. From this union two children were born, Louisa Jane Simmons and Albert N. Simmons, of which the latter only survives him. Mrs. Simmons died on May 27, 1874, and Mr. Simmons married to Miss Fannie Richmond on May 26, 1876. (I was going to finish copying this Obituary at a later date but I never got to do it.)
