She was preceded in death by her parents, Viva Mae and William Hutchins; and brother, Ray Hutchins.
Survivors include her husband, James E. Payne, Jr.; daughter, Tabitha Payne Garner; son, Jamey Payne, sisters, Sue Strickland, Delma Medders and Patsy Reed; brothers, Leroy Hutchins and Billy Hutchins; and grandchildren, Kylie Elizabeth Brown, Jay Payne, Tyler Payne Brown, Ally Grace, Abby Kaye Payne, and Smith Garner.
Brenda graduated from Brookwood High School. After graduation, she met and married the love of her life, Jimmy Payne. They moved to Stewart, Alabama where they established their home together for almost 46 years. Her home and her family were her pride and joy. She enjoyed her beautiful yard and flowers. Her grandchildren were her most prized possession. She enjoyed every football game and baseball game that was played at HCHS. She took much pride in her work. She was a beautician for 35 years. She loved and cared for each and every one of her customers.
Pallbearers will be Greg Siavelis, Logan Strickland, Brian Blake, Scotty Medders, Gavin Hutchins, Patrick Hutchins, Niel Hutchins, Danny Hutchins, and Wayne Hutchins.
Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Larry Skelton, Northport Medical Center ICU nurses and doctors, Stewart Methodist Church members, and former customers of the Moundville Styling Salon.
