Funeral services for Mr. Roger Bedford Smith, age 91, of Hilham will be conducted at 2 p.m., Saturday, April 26, 2014 from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home in Livingston. Burial will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Pickett County. The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 5 until 8 p.m.
Mr. Smith passed away April 22, 2014 at his home. He was born March 4, 1923 in Overton County to the late Mack and Lucinda Young Smith. He worked for General Motors Corporation.
He was affiliated with St. Andrews Catholic Church.
He is survived by his wife, Cecilia Smith of Hilham; sons, Roger Rolfe Smith of Bear, Delaware and Gary Smith of Clarkston, MI; daughters, Sharon Hazlinski of Port Huron, MI, and Jean Ann Richardson of Port Charlotte, FL & Belinda Smith of Waterford Mi.; 2 step-sons, Troy Selph of Hilham and Presley Selph of Cape Coral, FL; 6 grandchildren, Andrea, Bradley, Michelle, William, Colton, & Crystal, 5 step grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, 4 sisters: Zell Gutohrlein, Veachel Hill, Wilma Livermore, & Vella Mae Sparkman; and a brother: Ruben Smith.
