OAKS, OK- Funeral services for Lucinda (Chewie) Sands will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, April 25th, 2014 at the Reed Culver Chapel with Chaplin Larry Hendren officiating. Visitation for Lucinda will be held on Thursday, April 24th, 2014 from 12:00 PM until 6:00 PM at Reed-Culver Chapel. Interment will follow at Elm Prairie Cemetery in Leach, OK. Lucinda (Chewie) Sands was born in Tahlequah, OK on January 16th, 1976, the daughter of Johnny Chewie and Martha Glass. She had a large family of six brothers and sisters. Lucinda was a family person all of her life. She loved children early on in life and devoted herself to the care of her children and her family's children as well. She was happiest when in the company of those she loved. A loving daughter, and mother, her children were the most wonderful people in the world for her. A Baptist by faith, the Lord called Lucinda home from her labors on April 22nd, 2014 in Tahlequah, OK, with her family by her side. She was 38 years old. She will be greatly missed for her sweet smile and her love.
Lucinda is preceded in death by her father, Johnny Chewie, and her two brothers, Wesley Ketcher and David Ketcher. Those left to cherish her memory include her mother, Martha Glass of Oaks, OK, two sons, Clarence "Wesley" Sands and Dason Sands both of Oaks, OK. Her three daughters include Gabrielle "Gabby" Sands of Oaks, OK, Martha "Sweetpea" Chewie of Welling, OK, and Brandy Sands of West Siloam Springs, OK. She also leaves two brothers and two sisters, Johnathan Chewie of Flint Ridge, OK, Albert Ketcher of Kansas, OK, Judy Ketcher of Siloam Springs, AR, and Jamie Ketcher of Oaks, OK, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends and loved ones.
