J. Calvin Davidson, a well known resident of Carmichaels, died at his home Saturday, May 3, after a lingering illness. He was a son of Jeremiah and Selanta Davidson, deceased and had spent his life in Carmichaels. He was a blacksmith by trade but was compelled to give up his work nine years ago on account of failing health. Mr. Davidson was a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church. Beside his wife, Myra Gregg Davidson, he is survived by four children: Lillian and Lona Davidson, at home; Robert Davidson of Indiana; and Bartley Davidson of Carmichaels. One brother and two half brothers also survive: Frank Davidson of Atlantic City, N. J.; and Alex and George Davidson of Morgantown, W. Va. Funeral services were held on Monday afternoon conducted by Rev. W. E. Dean. Interment in Laurel Point Cemetery.
