Alfred Yerkes (#897 in Chronicles of the Yerkes Family) was the second son and third child of Adolphus Yerkes and his wife Harriet Remsen. He was a junior partner at the hardware firm of Stoddard, Jones & Yerkes. He married Mary North. He later removed to Phoenixville and was engaged in the hardware business there. He died at age 65 and the Andrew J. Barr Funeral Home burial order was for Woodlands
