Mrs. Sarah Bartee, 61, of Murphysboro, died in St. Francis Hospital, Peoria after being stricken with bronchial pneumonia. She went to Peoria early in September to visit a daughter, Mrs. Josie Lee McCall, and became ill a week later.
She leaves the daughter; a son, Clarence Bartee of Murphysboro; a brother, Will Thomas of Chicago; a sister, Mrs. Margaret Reeves of Jackson, TN; and a grandson in service, Pvt. Ernestine Patterson.
The body was removed from Peoria to the Jackson Funeral Home in Carbondale. Her funeral was held at Shiloh Baptist Church in Murphysboro, with Rev. Prince officiating.
