Funeral services for Leon "Matt" Jeffers were held Monday, May 5, 2014 at Twin Bridges Baptist Church, Brother Chris Morris and Brother Brent Dix officiated. Burial followed in Hemphill Star Cemetery, Cotile.

Mr. Jeffers, 27, of Alexandria was born April 10, 1987 and went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 30, 2014.

Matthew "Matt" graduated with Honors from Bossier City High School in 2004. He served as Lance Cpl. with BRAVO CO 1/23 Second Platoon Infantry as a machine gunner in the United States Marine Corp. and served one tour in Iraq. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Billy P. Parker, paternal grandfather, Calvin Jeffers, Sr. and his uncle, Calvin Jeffers, Jr.

Those left to cherish his memory include his girlfriend of Alexandria and their three children; parents: Mother of Alexandria; Father and Step-mother of Alexandria; sister and brother-in-law of Alexandria; maternal grandmother of Alexandria; paternal grandmother of Alexandria; two nephews of Alexandria: numerous loving aunts, uncles and cousins.

"And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain; for the former things are passed away" Revelation 21:4
