Mrs. Bernice (Bessie) Sobieski, 81, who resided with a daughter, Mrs.Harold Brixius, of 806 S. 28th St., Manitowoc, died Tuesday evening at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc. Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Friday at Schneider-Mittnacht Funeral Home and 10 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, Manitowoc. The Rev. Joseph Mattern will officiate with burial in St. Mary Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Sobieski, nee Bernice Kaczmarek, was born Sept. 29, 1894 at Posen, Poland, daughter of the late Joseph and Constance Wazniak Kaczmarek. She was married to John Sobieski June 12, 1916 at St. Hedwig Catholic Church, Milwaukee. He preceded her in death in 1956. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and Altar and Rosary Society of the church.

Survivors include a son Chester and two daughters Mrs. Florian (Evelyn) Jankowski and Mrs. Harold (Eunice) Brixius, of Manitowoc, a brother John and three sisters Sophie Oszdwski, Harriet Kasczmarek and Theresa Skuba of Milwaukee, 11 grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Four brothers preceded her in death.

Friends may call at Schneider-Mittnacht Funeral Home from 4 to 9 p.m Thursday, where members of St. Mary Altar and Rosary Society will meet at 3:30 p.m. and a parish prayer service will be at 6:45 p.m. Harry J. Bergner is in charge of funeral arrangements.
