Louis George "Jeengway" Barbar, 51, Minneapolis, died Thursday, April 7, at North Memorial Hospital, Robbinsdale, MN.

He was born Aug. 25, 1942, at the Lac Courte Oreilles Reservation, son of Louis T. and Elizabeth R. (James) Barber. He graduated from Hayward High School and served eleven years in the US Navy. Louis has lived in Minneapolis since 1971 and worked for Instrumentation Services Incorporated there.

Survivors include one son, Brad (Robin) Barber, Minneapolis; one grandchild; his parents, Louis and Elizabeth, New Post; four brothers, Dick of Hayward, Gaiashkibos (Rota) of New Post, Robert "Bud" and Dino, both of Couderay; three sisters, Rose Burns and Julie (George) Taylor of Hayward and Denis (William) Smith of Manawa; and many nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by an infant sister.

Tribal rites were held on Monday, April 11, at New Post Elderly Center. Burial followed in Round Lake Cemetery. Visitation was held after 5PM Sunday at the Elderly Center.

Anderson-Nathan Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Honorary bearer was John Bluesky.

Casketbearers were Rick "Beanie" Barber, George Bluesky, Chalmer Burns, Johnnie Boy Corbine, Alan "Bodie" LaRush, and Ronnie Tainter.
