William C. Pointer, Jr., 67, passed away at 3:15am on Monday, May 5, 2014, at Bethalto Care Center. He was born on October 27, 1946, in Alton, Illinois the son of the late William C. and Ruth M. (Pearson) Pointer, Sr. He married the former Kathy Stansberry on July 9, 1977, in Bethalto and she survives. Other survivors include one daughter and son in law: Julie and Paul Lemoine of Marksville, Louisiana, one step – daughter and her husband: Stacy and Donovan Ehrman of Brighton, three grandchildren: Keri Lemoine, Sydney Ehrman, Jackson Ehrman, one great granddaughter: Rylee Rae, and one sister and brother in law: Joyce and Kenny Hill of Rantoul, Illinois.
He was a member of the Piasa Street Rod and the Corvette Club. He was an avid Harley Davidson and Street Rod car collector. He enjoyed fishing.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother: Richard Pointer and one sister: Patricia ‘Sue" Barks.
In celebration of his life, private family funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 7, 2014, at Pitchford Funeral Home in Wood River. Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
Memorials are suggested to the 5A's animal shelter or to the Wood River Police Association.
