AGED COLORED WOMAN PASSES
Mrs. Kate Cook, colored, died at her home in Stanford Thursday afternoon, aged 83. Funeral services were held at the Baptist church Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Rev. W. K. Marshall, Danville, presiding elder of the Methodist churches of this district, officiating. She is survived by two sons, Leonidas Cook and Cornelius Cook, and four daughters, Florence E. Stepp, Stanford, Ella B. Newman, Lexington, Mary L. Lusk, Cincinnati, and Bessie Campbell, Crab Orchard. She had long been a resident of Stanford and had many friends, both white and colored, who lament her demise.
