Andrew Behrens was the son of Andreas (Andrew) Behrens and Louise Augusta Bartz Behrens. His family came to San Saba County in 1900 from Williamson County, Texas, and his father became a large San Saba landowner in farm and ranch land, as well as town properties. Andrew grew up on the ranch with his many siblings. He married Arlonia Taylor and they had two children, Margie Nell and Andrew Behrens, Jr.
Andrew Behrens, Sr. spent most of his life in San Saba County and died here on May 22, 1987, at the age of 85.
