Louis was born and raised in Mellen. He worked in the construction business and also as a heavy equipment operator in Beloit. He enjoyed fishing and hunting.
He is survived by a daughter, Helen (Ken) Anderson, Beloit; a son, Phillip Stilen, Janesville; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Margaret Dewald, Beloit, and Lucille Parker; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Roberts Funeral Home in Ashland, with Fr. John Scheer officiating. Interment will take place in the Mellen
Union Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 12 noon - 1 p.m. Thursday at the Roberts Funeral Home.
