Allen Lowe died this morning at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Kendrick, near Auburn, this county. He was 91 years old.
Mr. Lowe was born in Kentucky. In his childhood his father migrated to Indiana and located at Crawfordsville where the deceased grew up to manhood. He married, moved and located in Iowa where he and others founded the town of Attica. In June 1859, he came to Kansas and located in Auburn, this county. Since that time he has been a resident of the county (now 47 years). His business life was devoted to farming and mercantile pursuits. He was the father of eight children, six of whom are living. His wife and two daughters, Mrs. P. I. Bonebrake, and wife of Rev. C. E. Lewis have passed on before. Mr. Lowe was a very active worker and member of the Methodist church while in active life. He was a member of the Parkdale M. E. church.
Funeral services will be held at the home of his daughter, Mrs. M. C. Kendrick, in the country, and brief services will be held at the cemetery, conducted by Rev. John D. Knox, his former pastor. Burial at the Topeka cemetery at 2 o'clock Tuesday.
