She settled in Modesto at the age of fourteen and graduated from Modesto High School in 1950. After she graduated from Business College she worked for The Modesto Bee for twenty years. While working at The Modesto Bee she met Keith Thurston and they married October 3, 1969.
After working at the Modesto Bee she then worked for title companies for ten years. She belonged to Emanuel Lutheran Church in Modesto, Native Daughters, and the American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed needlepoint embroidery and traveling with her husband.
Memorial contributions can be made in her memory to Emanuel Lutheran Church, Community Hospice, and American Cancer Society.
Louise is survived by her husband, Keith Thurston; children, Sherry (Robert) Orsetti of Ceres and Geri (Raymond) LeCain of Riverbank; siblings, Donald Houx of Sequim, Washington; six grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents and sister, Wilma Brown.
Memorial service will be held at Emanuel Lutheran Church in Modesto on Saturday, May 3, 2014 at 11:00a.m.
