Third son of John Crossley.
On 7th May 1839, he married Anne Child.
Their children were Louis John, Elizabeth, and Anne.
On 7th November 1847, after Anne's death, he married Sarah Wheatley.
He lived at Manor Heath and was Mayor of Halifax [1849-1851] and [1861-1863]
He was MP for Halifax [1874-77].
He owned the Halifax Courier for a time.
And buried in the Halifax General Cemetery. [ Lister Lane ]
