One of three children, he was born January 26, 1941 to the late Garfield and Ethel Six Wyrick. He was a lifelong resident of Princeton. Jim was a 1958 graduate of Princeton High School. He retired from WV Department of Health and Human Resources after a career of 32 years.

Jim spent his retirement enjoying hunting, fishing, traveling and camping. A dedicated WV Mountaineers fan and a member of the Elks Foundation, he enjoyed Blue Grass music and Western movies. His greatest joy was being surrounded by his family.
