Martha was born February 9, 1925 in Manhattan, N.Y., daughter of the late Vincent and Philomena Lucas. She retired from New York Telephone as a methods assistant after many years of service.
Formerly of Bronxville, N.Y., she moved to Heritage Village in 1986 and became a volunteer at the Lutheran Home and Waterbury Hospital.
She enjoyed going on bus trips to the casinos. She was a past communicant of St. Teresa of Avila Church in Woodbury.
She leaves her nephew, Vincent Schaeffer of Alabama; her niece, Mary Turtzo of Pennsylvania, and her closest friends, Marie Krusky and Margaret Carmack, both of Heritage Village.
Her family and friends would like to thank the staff of the Lutheran Home for their excellent care of Martha.
A private burial took place in Calvary Cemetery, Queens, N.Y. Arrangements were by Carpino Funeral Home, Southbury.
