JAMES S. HULME

James Sanford Hulme a local artist, of 36 Doyer Ave., White Plains, died Saturday at his home. He was 73.

A 35-year resident of White Plains. Hulme was in the process of painting a picture of the city's old courthouse and library before he died. His works of Westchester scenes have appeared on display throughout the city and Westchester.

Born in Oklahoma, he was a graduate of the Art Institute of Chicago and a former teacher there. He was also a graduate of the Grand Central School of Art. He was a member of White Plains Masons Lodge number 473.

He is survived by his wife, the former Edna Olson of the home address; one son Bruce H. of North Salem; one daughter Elizabeth G. of New York City and two grandchildren.
