Dorothy Dance Andrews, 92, of Dinwiddie, passed away on Tuesday March 17, 2009 at the Dinwiddie Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was the widow of Carter Lee Andrews and the daughter of the late John and Maggie Hogood Dance. She was preceded in death by a son, Carter M. Andrews. Mrs. Andrews retired from the Brown and Williamson Tobacco Co. and a member of Prospect Christian Church. She is survived by two sons; John E. Andrews of Colonial Heights, Carl M. Andrews of Powhatan; daughters, Maggie A. Saunders, of Florida, Myrtie M. Taylor, of Colonial Heights; nine grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; a devoted friend Ella Mae Fisher and a half sister Nora D. Wells of Dinwiddie. A Funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday March 21, 2009, at Prospect Christian Church, 13505 White Oak Rd DeWitt, VA 23840, with the Reverend Sally Good and the Reverend Tammy Hayes officiating .Burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-8:30 P.M. Friday evening at the Colonial Heights chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Home & Crematory 2033 Boulevard.
