Betty Adams, the daughter of Marvin and Ruth (Mueller) Lyngstad, was born on December 12, 1939 in Breckenridge, Minnesota. She passed away on May 16, 2014 at her home near Superior, Nebraska at the age of 74 years, 5 months, 4 days.

Betty was baptized in the Lutheran Church and after her marriage transferred her membership to the Reformed Presbyterian Church. She attended grade school in Minnesota up to the fifth grade and then attended school in Hastings, Nebraska graduating with the class of 1958 at Hasting Senior High School. On February 14, 1960 she was united in marriage to Wayne Adams in Hastings and to this union three sons were born. Throughout the years Betty was not only a farmer's wife but also worked as a telephone operator before marriage and after marriage worked as a housekeeper at the Plains Motel, the Hospital, John Deere and the Victorian Inn.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Linda Becht and a great-grandson, Conner Morgan.

She is survived by her husband Wayne of Superior, Nebraska, sons, Michael Adams and wife Debra of Superior, Nebraska, David Adams of Hoxie, Kansas and Lonnie Adams and fiancé' Jennifer of Wakeeney, Kansas. Seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Two sisters, Myrtle (Mae) Haney and husband Charles of Ayr, Nebraska, Lou Ann Bunde and husband Gary of Hastings, Nebraska brothers, Jerry Lyngstad and wife Monica of Hastings, Nebraska and Melvin Lyngstad and wife Joann along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at 11:00 am from the Megrue-Price Funeral Home in Superior, Nebraska with David Watters officiating.

Music was "Footprints in the Sand" with Stephanie Thayer as soloist and Carlita Price as accompanist. A special selection of "Daddy's Hands" was played.

Visitation was held on May 20, 2014 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm with the family present to greet friends from 5:00 to 7:00 pm.

Pallbearers were Alan Hornbussel, Duane Swanson, Kirk Young, Vaughn Bargen, Lonnie Adams and Steve Bruns. Honorary Pallbearers were Joe Doyle, Mike Combs, Rex Kirchhoff, Marvin Bockholdt and John Combs.

Interment was in the Evergreen Cemetery at Superior, Nebraska.

Memorials are suggested to go in care of the family.
