Alaine C. (Cohen) Larkey, 88, peacefully passed away Friday November 29, 2013, at the Good Shepard Village in Endwell, NY.
She was predeceased by her parents Pauline (Singer) and Jacob M. Cohen, her devoted husband Lewis B. Larkey. her son in law Barry M. Shabus, and her brother Joseph Cohen.
Surviving her are her children: daughter Karen and Wayne Rozen, Binghamton, sons; Charles Larkey, Austin TX. and Robert and Robin Larkey, Miami, FL. , her grandchildren; Molly Larkey, Levi (Bena) Larkey, Lena (Shabus)and Matthew Geandreau, Jessica (Larkey) and Aaron Banikiotes, Sarah Larkey, and Jacob Larkey. Alaine is also survived by her three great granddaughters; Ocean Larkey, Elizabeth Banikiotes, and Bari Madeline Geandreau as well as nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Alaine was born and raised in Manhattan.
She raised her family in New Jersey before settling in the Binghamton area in the early 1980's.
She was a member of Temple Concord, served with both the Temple Concord Sisterhood and the Temple Concord Sisterhood Board. Although Alaine made many friends here she never lost her love for Manhattan.
She will be remembered for her wonderful sense of humor. Always exuding class and charm Alaine was a true lady.
