Margaret "Margie" Boyle, 89, Apple Valley, MN, formerly of Garrison, died on Saturday, May 17, 2014 at an Apple Valley assisted living center. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 10:30 am at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Garrison. A rosary will be said on Wednesday at 7:00 pm at the church. Burial will be at the St. Nicholas Catholic Cemetery in Garrison.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday from Noon to 5 at Thompson Funeral Home in Garrison.

Margie was born October 7, 1924 to Henry and Mary "Nettie" (O'Shea) Kerzmann on a farm in Blackwater Township, near Emmet, ND, the eighth of nine children. She attended country school through the 8th grade. She then went to St. Nicholas High School in Garrison. Margie was a member of the last graduating class from St. Nicholas School in 1942. Following high school, she taught school on the Fort Berthold Reservation for 1 year. She then moved to Seattle, WA, where she was a "riveter", working for Boeing during the war effort. On December 6, 1948, Margie married Ralph "Sandy" Allers at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Garrison. They had one son, Tim. Sandy was killed in a car accident on December 3, 1964. Margie was working for the Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service (ASCS) at the time of the accident and was thankful for a job that allowed her to raise her son, Tim.

On April 19, 1974, Margie married Dr. John T. Boyle. They made their home in Garrison, along with Dr. Boyle's five children. Dr. Boyle died suddenly on June 29, 1988. Margie continued living a busy, positive, energetic life in Garrison. She was an extremely generous person and had a wonderful passion for life, which she shared with each and every person she met. For the last 4 years, Margie spread that passion to the people she lived with at the Apple Valley Villa Assisted Living Center in Apple Valley, MN.

Margie will be remembered most for her love of music. She was blessed as a young girl with the gift of playing the piano by ear. She could literally listen to any song and go sit at her piano and play it. She shared this gift with many people and was proud to be a part of the "Garrison Jammers", always showing pictures of the band wherever she went.

Margie's greatest love however, was for that of her son, Tim, his wife, Colleen, and their children, Ryan and Jessica. Not a conversation was had that didn't mention Tim, or involve sharing pictures of her grandchildren. Tim was able to give back to his mother in the best way possible, by taking wonderful care of her each and every day that she lived in Apple Valley.

Margie is survived by her son, Tim (Colleen) Allers, Eagen, MN; grandchildren, Ryan (Mandi) Allers and Jessica Allers; step children, Tom(Judy) Boyle, Kathy Boyle, Steve(Lynda) Boyle, and Mary(Richard) Simeonoff; 9 step grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Nettie Kerzmann, husbands, Sandy Allers and Dr. John Boyle, and her siblings, Alvin "Slim" Kerzmann, Henry Kerzmann, George Kerzmann, Mary Kerzmann, Ellen Crawford, and a step daughter, Rodey Boyle.
