Elmer went to work at about ten years old in a glass factory. Elmer went into the Army and later was a Barber. He owned the Meredith Barber Shop in East Liverpool, Ohio. He worked during the depression and people would trade food for haircuts. In 1917, Elmer was stationed at Fort Snelling in Minnesota. Elmer and Lemma moved from East Liverpool, Ohio to Miami, Arizona in 1962.

Services for Elmer Meredith, 80, were held Tuesday in the Miles Mortuary Chapel. Burial was in La Habra, California.

Mr. Meredith died Saturday in Miami Inspiration Hospital. He was a native of Marietta, Ohio, a retired barber, and a veteran of World War I. He lived in Miami, AZ for 18 years.
