Absolum Pritchard was born, 1842 in Noble County, Ohio.. He was a Union Soldier in the Civil War. He was a private in Company C., Seventh Regiment of West Virginia Volunteer Infantry. He received a soldiers pension of eight dollars monthly from December 21, 1898, until his death in November, 1904. This pension was for naso-pharyngeal (catarrh) causing bronchitits. (There is a copy of his army discharge) He married Catherine Riley July 26, 1864 in Tyler County, WV. They had Twins: Lee died in infancy and buried near Flora Illinois. Charles Steven was born 7-3-1868 and died 1-24-56. He was a member of House of Delegates in W.Va. legislature from Roane County 1929-1930. He was buried at Beechwood.
