Adeline Werth, age 94, of Schoenchen, passed away Monday, May 19, 2014 at Cedar View Assisted Living in Hays. She was born February 5, 1920 in Hays, Kansas to Ludwig and Rose (Frank) Befort.
She was a long time cook having worked for 35 years at the Fanchon and 25 years at Fort Hays State University. She was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Schoenchen. She enjoyed gardening, flowers and cooking for her family.
She is survived by a son, Severin Werth Jr. and wife Marjorie of Hays; three daughters, Darlene Williams and husband Robert of Olathe, Kansas, Sharon Unrein of Olathe, Kansas and Patty Coker of Wright, Kansas. 7 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren also survive her.
She was preceded in death by four brothers, Andrew, Alfred, Ted and Rich Befort; two sisters, Armella Gottschalk and Minnie Werth and a son-in-law, Don Coker.
Funeral services will be 10:30 AM Friday, may 23, 2014 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Schoenchen. Private family burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be Thursday 4 PM - 8 PM and Friday 9 AM - 10:00 AM all at Brock's-Keithley Funeral Chapel-2509 Vine-Hays, KS 67601.
A parish vigil service will be 6:30 Thursday at the funeral chapel.
