William Ernest Tawney, 61, of South Charleston died Thursday at his home. A resident of South Charleston for the past 32 years, he was a retired Carbide employee and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, South Charleston. Surviving: wife, Mabel; son, Gene of South Charleston; brothers, Garrison of Luneyville, Jarrett of Spencer, Dan and Clement of Left Hand, Clark of Wallback; sisters, Mrs. Florence Dalton of Vienna; Mrs. Ernest Rogers of Newton, Mrs. Mamie Hayes of Florida; Mrs. Ann Desposito of New York City; two grandchildren.
