Clarence, 67, of Alma, passed away on Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at West Branch Regional Medical Center. He was the son of Clare and Laura Ellen (Norris) Arnold.

Butch graduated from Alma High School in 1965 and went on to serve his county in the United States Army as a Sargent during Vietnam, until his honorable discharge. Butch worked for the Elwell and Shepherd Elevators for 26 years. He retired from the Morning Sun Newspaper as the Distribution Manager where he earned the Carrier of the Year Award.

He enjoyed farming sweetcorn, hunting, animals and attending flea markets. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren. He was a member of the Alma VFW.

Butch is survived by his two children; Karen (Robert) Smith of Ithaca and Robert (Jessica) Arnold of Williamston, four grandchildren; twins Blake and Channing Gulick, Claire and Glen Arnold, two sisters; Christy Teed and Ginger (Chuck) Reed and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Laura Friend.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, May 27, 2014 at Lux-Moody-Wolfel Funeral Home in Alma with Pastor Brian Teed officiating.
