Husband of Susanna White (born 1780 Vermont). Brice came to America as an indentured servant with two wealthy families named McBurney, between the ages of twelve and to eighteen years old, who settled on farms in New York. He worked for them until he paid the price for his passage. When Brice left Belfast, Ireland, his name was Kirkpatrick, but somehow it was spelled Kilpatrick on the ships register, so he continued to use that name. He worked off his time and became a good citizen and a farmer. He served a short term in the New York Militia during the War of 1812, serving at the burning of Buffalo. After his marriage to Susanna, they moved to Ohio. When Susanna died he was left with several children, but never re-married. He died of asthma at the age of 90 years.

Brice's occupations in America were farming, a distiller and a well digger.

Brice's father was of Scottish ancestry. The family originally came from Dumfrieshire, Scotland, near the English border.
