Dalton is my father's brother. There are two different grave markers for Dalton. The first one was when his wife Edith died, the stone was prepared for the both of them. He was not buried beside Edith, however, but a wife he was married to last, Ella J.
Edith is the wife I knew as my aunt, the one in the marker photo I took at Old Pisgah Cem in Carbon Hill, AL. Uncle Dalton and Aunt Edith, rest in eternal peace. Various official documents have Dalton's birth date as two different dates, 9 Mar 1900, 9 Mar 1901. My own father, Dalton's brother, handwrote 9 Mar 1901 in a list he made for me decades ago. In a second, similar list typed by my father Walter Benton years after the first list, he also put 9 Mar, 1901 as Dalton's birth date. I still have these lists.
