Florence worked as a beautician, and later as a speech therapist in area schools.
After retirement she was a live in caretaker for the disable until her Parkinson's forced her to stop. Florence liked to hike, garden, pick fiddleheads in the spring, and spend time with her sisters.
She was predeceased by a son, Jeffrey; and a daughter, Paulette; and several siblings.
She is survived by a daughter, Paula Hill and her husband, Bruce, of Newport; sons Timothy Barstow and his wife, Gayle, of Hollis, and Brent Barstow, of Lisbon; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Oak Grove Center and hospice for their care.
There will be no visiting hours. A graveside service will be at Maplewood Cemetery on Maple Street in Fairfield. (Morning Sentinel 5/24/2014 & Lawry Brothers Funeral Home)
