He served in the US Navy as a Seaman First Class from 1943 to 1946. He worked as a Millwright for Union 1996 of Augusta. He was a member of the National Rifle Association, Local union #1996, Robert Shand Post #1641 VFW. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Survivors include two sons, Timothy Barstow and his wife, Gayle of Dayton, and Brent Barstow of Albion; a daughter, Paula Hall and her husband, Bruce of Newport; his companion, Dorothy Crosby of Mexico, and her children, Randy Crosby and his companion, Caroline of Mexico, and Mark Crosby and his companion, Debbie of Mexico; and many grandchildren.
He was predeceased by a daughter, Paulette; and a son, Jeff.
Graveside services will be held in the spring at the Pond Cemetery in Unity.
