February 10, 1992 - John Jonasen, 91, Cooperstown, formerly of Dazey, N.D., died Saturday, Feb. 8, 1992 in Griggs County Hospital, Cooperstown. John Jonasen was born Sept. 23, 1900, in Toten, Norway, the son of Christopher and Marie Jonasen. He emigrated to the United States with his family in 1905. They settled in Griggs County, where he grew up and attended school. He farmed in Griggs County and later in the Dazey area for many years. After his retirement, he continued to live on the farm until moving to Cooperstown in 1984. He had lived in Griggs County Nursing in Cooperstown for the past years. 
Survivors are his sisters, Helen Skjeret, Cooperstown, Anna (Mrs. Marius) Rasmussen, Valley City, N.D., Minnie Sherman, Springfield, Ill., Mabel (Mrs. Paul) Cornwall and Chrystine Loftin, Pacific Grove, Calif., and Nina Moudy, Capitola Calif. He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, and brothers, Axel and Ole.
Services: 2 p.m. Tuesday, St. Olaf Lutheran Church, Walum, N.D.
Visitation: 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. today, Quam-Plaisted-Cushman Funeral Home, Cooperstown.
