On Saturday, May 24, 2014, Joseph Kirk went to be with our Lord and Savior at the age of 78.

Joe was born to John Francis Kirk and Dorothy Seitz on September 18, 1935 in South River, New Jersey. In 1953, Joe enlisted into the United States Army at the age of 17. He served in the Korean and Vietnam wars as a combat medic. Joe was stationed in Germany, Korea, Vietnam, Thailand, Hawaii, Fort Hood and retired at Fort Sam Houston as a Master Sergeant.

Joe is survived by his wife of 51 years Gay, his children, David (Laurie) Kirk and Rose (Frankie) Squiabro, his grandchildren, Brittnie and Emilie Kirk and Jeremy Squiabro and his sisters, Val Barna and Rose Borghi.

Joe was preceded in death by his oldest son, Joey.

Visitation will take place at Sunset Funeral Home Thursday May 29, 2014 from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm with graveside services the following day Friday May 30, 2014 at 10:15am at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery 1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd San Antonio, Texas 78209.
