Dorothy M. Hager, 96, died Monday, May 26, 2014 in Harvey, ND.

Dorothy was born on June 23, 1917, in Karlsruhe, ND, a daughter of Ben and Dorothy (Streifel) Feist. She was reared and educated in Karlsruhe. On October 6, 1937, in Karlsruhe, she married Frank Hager. They lived in Karlsruhe for two years before moving to a farm in the Harvey and Selz, ND area, where they raised small grain and dairy cattle. They were members of St. Anthony's Catholic Church, where she sang in the choir, was a member of the Altar Society and also Secretary Treasurer. She belonged to the Selz Patient Homemakers Club and held various positions there. She was a trustee of the Auxiliary of the VFW in Harvey.

In May of 1973, she moved with her husband to Minot. They were members of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church where she belonged to the St. Anthony's Altar Society. Frank died on April 21, 1991. After moving to the Milton Young Towers, she became a member of St. Leo's Catholic Church, where she was a member of Court St. Elizabeth of the Catholic Daughters of America. While living at Milton Young Towers, she was a trustee on the Executive Board of the tenant association and a member of the Minot Housing Authority. She was also Office Secretary for the Minot Senior Citizen League for many years. She was a member of St. Joseph's Auxiliary and belonged to the decorating committee.

In August of 2006, she moved to Edgewood Vista, where she resided until March of 2012, when she moved into the St. Aloisius Medical Center in Harvey, ND.

Her hobbies were sewing, crocheting, knitting, entertaining friends, cards, music, singing and dancing. She enjoyed travel, going on her yearly trip to the Seattle-Tacoma, WA, area to be with her daughter and other family members. Above all, she loved her freedom!

Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Dottie (Henry) LeMar of Tacoma, WA; grandchildren, Laurie (Dan) Sipes and Todd LeMar; great grandchildren, Danielle, Mike, Jared and Haley Sipes and Devany and Bryce LeMar; a brother, Benny (Irene) Feist of Minot; sisters, Katherine Fahy of Boise, ID, Caroline (Dan) Goebel of Boise, Ann Schaan of Minot and Barbara Bruner of Yakima, WA. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, sisters, Christine Kupser and Lena Heit, brothers, Tony Feist, Frank Feist and Paul Feist and a great grandson, Mathew Todd LeMar.

Funeral: Thursday, May 29, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Minot.

Visitation: Wednesday, May 28, 2014 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.

Burial will take place in Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot.
