Magdalen Feist was born May 26, 1921, on the family farm in McHenry County, near Karlsruhe, to Benedict and Dorothy (Streifel) Feist. She was raised and attended school in Karlsruhe.

Magdalen married George Heit on Oct. 22, 1940, at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Karlsruhe. Following their marriage they farmed near Balfour, Bergen, Karlsruhe and Towner, before moving to Glenburn in 1946. In Minot she was a member of Little Flower Catholic Church and later became a member of St. Leo's Catholic Church in Minot. She was a member of the Confraternity of Christian Mothers.

Magdalen enjoyed farm life and was always around to help her husband. She was an accomplished seamstress and made many dresses for her daughters. She also did much of the sewing work for St. Philomena Catholic Church in Glenburn and painted many of the statues in the church. Magdalen was an excellent cook and baker and enjoyed baking and cooking for her family and friends. She loved to dance with her husband, to walz and polka music. She especially loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and was known to spoil them a time or two.

Magdalen was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend who will be deeply missed.
