William W. Hayes, 105, formerly of Proctor, died on July 15, 2006, at Valley View Nursing Center where he was a guest.

Born March 5, 1901, he was the son of David and Lillian Orner Hayes.

Mr. Hayes retired from the former Bethlehem Steel in Williamsport.

He also enjoyed woodworking.

He was the widower of the former Ida M. Hill who died Jan. 9, 1978.

Surviving him are three daughters, Violet M. Smith of Trout Run, Arlene Winters of Loyalsock Twp., Caroline (Donald) Berry of Montoursville, and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.

He was predeceased by a son William Hayes and brothers and sisters.

There will be a private funeral service on Wednesday, July 19 at 10:30 a.m. at Spitler Funeral Home, 733 Broad St., Montoursville followed by burial in Green Lawn Memorial Park.

There will be no visitation.
