Violet M. Smith, 86, of 7606 Rose Valley Road, Trout Run, and a guest at Valley View Nursing Center, passed away Monday, February 11, 2008 at the home. She was born August 2, 1921 in Williamsport a daughter of William and Ida Hill Hayes.
She attended Beech Valley United Methodist Church. On October 6, 1988 she was predeceased by her husband, Chalmer W. Smith. She is also predeceased by a brother, William Hayes, and a grandson, Ryan Smith.
Violet is survived by two sons, Thomas E. Smith and Roger W. (CaSandra) Smith; two daughters, Bonnie Y. (Terry) Pickels, and Annette M. (Thomas) Wallace, all of Rose Valley; two sisters, Arlene Winters, and Caroline Berry, both of Montoursville; seven grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held 12 p.m. Friday, February 15, at the Beech Valley Cemetery. There will be no visitation.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Valley View Nursing Center, 2140 Warrensville Road, Montoursville, PA 17754.
