Stephen W. Friend, aged 88 years, 3 months and 18 days, died at his home on Oak Street on Sunday afternoon following an illness of some duration.
Mr. Friend was a retired farmer and was born in Sang Run, Garrett county, being a son of Mr. and Mrs. Willis Friend.
Funeral services were conducted on Tuesday afternoon from the home, Rev. C. Skipper officiating. Interment was made at Hoyes Run. Mrs. Mary C. Woods, of Mountain Lake Park, is a daughter. He is survived by several other children.
His children:
Pearl, Ruth, Mary Cornelius, William Dennis, Elva Rebecca, Lacey Vylena, Alvin Harrison, Blanche Effie, Lindsey Ellis (male), Matthias Daniel, Daisy Ethel, and Vesta Marie.
