likely birthdate is 9 Apr Enosburg, Franklin Co, VT; appears to be brother to Grove[r] Griswold, Mem#148686945, who was born ~1810 at Enosburg. Franklin's family is in 1850 New Ipswich, NH census; 1860 & 1870 St. Johnsbury census. 6 March 1855 Franklin was elected 2nd constable in St. Johnsbury; 1861 was in St. J. Temperance Society; 1864 & 65 served as Grand Juror; 1872 was appointed as the railroad station agent in East Saint Johnsbury. Franklin was also a farmer in East St. Johnsbury, who died at home after a short illness of typhoid dysentery, at age 63 (Caledonian newspaper)
