ANTON BELZ (d. 1955)

Anton Belz, 69, the last surviving member of the Belz family identified with the early history of Two Rivers, died unexpectedly of a heart attack shortly after 4 p.m. Friday while visiting at the service station, operated by his son, Sylvester Belz, at Forest Avenue and 25th Street, Two Rivers.

Mr. Belz, who had been afflicted with a heart condition for the past two years, had been making his home with his son at Edgewood Place since the death of his wife in 1954.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Klein & Stangel Inc., Funeral Home, Two Rivers, the Rev. M.J. Roehrdanz, pastor of Emanuel Evangelical United Brethren Church, officiating. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Two Rivers.

Mr. Belz was born in Two Rivers on May 17, 1886, a son of the late Julius Belz, former Two Rivers fire chief, and the late Catherine Bender Belz. For many years he was employed in the freight depot of the Chicago & North Western Railway at Two Rivers, and later for more than 25 years was an employe of Plant No. 4 of the Aluminum Goods Mfg. Co., Two Rivers, retiring four years ago. He married the former Frances Migawa of Two Rivers who died on May 13, 1934.

His only immediate survivors are his son, Sylvester and two grandchildren.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Sunday.
