"Foster J. Benninger, 46, of Spring Hill, Wyalusing RD, passed away Tuesday morning at Tyler Memorial Hospital in Meshoppen following a short illness.

He was born in South Auburn, a son of the late Punderson and Lucy Carlin Benninger. He had lived all his life in the Laceyville area and had been employed by the Whipple Corp. for the past three years. Previous to that he operated a dairy farm.

He was a member of the Spring Hill Methodist Church, Spring Hill Grange, was secretary of the Spring Hill Sportsman's Club, and was a member of the Spring Hill Men's Club.

He is survived by his wife, the former Dorothy Garris; a son, Foster, Jr. at home; three daughters, Mrs. Donald Ferris of Laceyville, Audrey and Connie at home; four sisters, Mrs. Pearl Tyler of Meshoppen, Mrs. Hiram Rice and Mrs. Floyd Hendershot both of Sayre and Mrs. Henry Aldermose of Noxen; two brothers, Wilbur of Montrose and Miner of Binghamton, three grandchildren.

The funeral will be on Friday at 2 p.m. at the Spring Hill Methodist Church with the Rev. Theodore Stone officiating. Burial will be in Spring Hill cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Sheldon Funeral Home in Laceyville Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m."
